Born and raised in the mountains of California , in a small town of just three hundred people, Chad quickly developed a love for nature, travel, sports and the great outdoors. His passion for lifestyle photography began at the age of fourteen upon picking up his first camera and photographing everything from wild animals, landscapes, family & friends.

He sold his first image to a snowboard magazine at the age of eighteen and in the same year made one of his largest sales to the well known tequila brand Jose Cuervo. This early success inspired Chad to pursue photography as a full time career. Chad moved to Montana for an intensive summer program at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. This exciting three month course only wet his appetite. Eager to learn absolutely everything there was to know about photography, Chad moved to Santa Barbara California and enrolled in Brooks Institute of Photography, considered a world leader in providing visual art education. After three rewarding years of training and school, Chad earned a Bachelors of Arts in Commercial Photography and has never looked back.

Driven to succeed in the heart of the industry, Chad moved to Downtown Manhattan following graduation. Four years later, Chad Riley has developed a strong reputation in New York as a lifestyle advertising photographer, adding new clients to his roster each year. He has also traveled the world, met thousands of people and experienced the most amazing places. Photography is a dream Chad is all too happy to chase, as it continues to change and grow. At times, it is a surreal reality - photographing people from around the world, working outside in nature, while also living in one of the world’s largest, most cosmopolitan, inspirational cities.
